Introduction to College Teaching: Foundations of Equitable Teaching. As co-facilitator, I introduce graduate instructors to the foundations of student-centered, equitable teaching: developing a teaching philosophy, evidence-based and equity-grounded practices, designing a class session, and the broader dimensions of teaching for equity.
Advanced College Teaching: Course Design As co-facilitator, I guide graduate instructors through designing a course from the ground up: backward course design, aligning learning outcomes with activities and assessments, and building syllabi and assessment plans that support equitable learning.
Communication for Teaching. Offered through the English Language Program for International Instructors, this course supports international graduate students in developing oral English communication, culturally responsive pedagogy, and equitable classroom management, so they can thrive as instructors and communicate clearly across UC San Diego’s diverse community.
